Probably over thawed it or heated it to quickly.

I normally let mine soak in cool water for a few hours (normally I have several tubs full lol so it takes about 10 hours) and then I drain the water and use hot water for about 5 minutes and drain.

Either way I'm sure she didn't mind lol
