PostSubject: Richmond Magazine   Thu Dec 19, 2013 5:01 pm

It looks like our snakes are going to be in Richmond Magazine in February. I just completed an interview and they are scheduling a photographer to come out and take pictures. This is part of an article that is being written about exotic pets.

I'm a little concerned. She kept asking questions and I'd give her an answer then she would say something back to me and it was not quite correct and I'd have to correct her.

Anyway, we will see how well they do with accuracy of what I said.

Find out now if you can get a copy of the text of the article after the editor chops it up, but before it is set up for printing, so that you can correct any misinformation.

Congrats! Hopefully, reporting of this type was just new to her.

I only agree to interviews where I have final say on what is published. Typically if you set the ground rules first and tell them that you are only interested in having herps (and in this case people that keep herps) portrayed in a positive light, you're less likely to have issues. If they don't agree, then don't do the interview.

Don, I would contact the writer and get a clear understanding of what idea she is trying to present to the readers before you give them anymore material. This writer may have an anti-herp agenda.

jw, I talked to her and she is originally from Florida and she is interested in reptiles and likes them. I don't think it is an article that will do harm.
