Preaching to the choir here, I'm sure, for members of the forum, but just a heads up to everyone: If you're leaving for the holiday, even for a few days, be sure to have someone come and check on your reptiles (and other pets) while you're gone. At the clinic we hear an all-to-often, "Oh, yeah, I'm gonna leave them plenty of mealworms/crickets (cat food, you name it). We're only gonna be gone for four days!" And we're thinking, suppose the power goes out...you're leaving live insects in with your pet??... suppose they turn the water dish over the first day! You get the picture! Take dogs and cats to a boarding kennel. Many kennels (and pet shops) will board small numbers of reptiles, also. If you have a large collection, be safe! Have a friend or neighbor check on them everyday. Leave them your cell number in case there's an emergency. Tactfully suggest that co-workers do the same. We love our pets. Keep them safe if you're going to be gone!

Good advice! I'm always around during the holidays if anyone needs any help.
