How in the hell can we tell the difference between marginated, Greek, and Herman's hatchlings?!?! We are going back to pet paradise tomorrow and want to be confident in our ability to choose. We have decided on a Herman's but they have all three mixed together!! Seriously, I have been searching all day and am having a hard time finding info. Please help us out . Thank you

Personally I'd suggest going to the reptile show Sunday first, you may luck out on one a little older. You'll be able to get much more info from people at the show most likely. Someone is bound to have torts there.

Check out http://www.tortoisetrust.org
This is the original place to get great information on all things tortoise.

I have seen pics of them showing the difference but I don't remember where. I would suggest looking on Tortoise Forum as well. There is a ton of people on there that can help.

I've never been to the Hampton Show.

But I've also never been to a reptile show were quite a few Tortoise were available - Mostly Sulcatas, red foot, star, and russian but always a decent variety. You'll get to see a lot of cool stuff at the show other than torts as well.

From what I can tell Herman Torts are darker in coloration based off pictures

Alternatively - you can always try kingsnake

If you look at the different photos of hatchlings you can see the difference. I think, if I remember correctly, it's all in the amount of black on their plastrons.
