PostSubject: To worry or not to worry   Tue Aug 13, 2013 6:48 pm

Hey guys,

A little concerned here. I have a 2013 het pied male ball that I recently purchased and over all is doing very well. Had some issues controlling heat and humidity at first but that is now under control. I am feeding this little guy live feeders twice a week (3 feeds in now) but he has yet to leave me any gifts in return. He is due a feeding again tomorrow (Sunday and Wednesday feedings), but and am leary to give him another one at this point. He is quite active at night.....moving about looking for a way to escape......seems to be thermoregulating on his own (3 hides to choose from warm side.....cold side and one in the middle). I have seen him in all 3 now.

Any input would be greatly appreciated. Should I keep feeding him until he leaves me a present or should I take him to get looked at?

Thanks,

Jack

I'd give him some more time. They don't always read the book on ball pythons.

Id have to agree.
I had a female once that was a monster. Im sure if I woulda offered her a jumbo this girl woulda taken it no problem and looked at me right after like "uhhh, you gonna throw another one in here now or what? Suspect"

Well after a little over a month I started to worry as well and took her to a vet.
The vet told me she looked 100% healthy and just to give it another week or 2. If she hadnt gone by then, to give her a warm soak to see if it would help.

Well I was overly worried and said screw it, shes gettin that warm bath as soon as I get home.
Sure enough, about five minutes into the soak.....BBOOOOOOMMMMMMM! Facepalm

Haha

So true!
They could have done the deed 5 min before you cleaned it but as soon as they realize its clean, they find a way to do it again!

Because he's such a small guy, you can probably see the poo inside of him. On his belly, just above the cloaca. If it starts to swell or bulge in that area, that's where I would start to be concerned.

Mine go if I clean the tub and give them fresh water. Usually they use the water bowl as the toilet, and then dump it.
