OK, just watched part of the video. Guy is a complete idiot. Brags about sticking needles in his arm with no serialization or sanitation. Not to mention he is injecting with no education or understanding of what he is doing.

dont think his stuff is as dirty as it seems. To a doctor cleaning them and reusing them is dirty. Who cares if its not the cleanest way to do it. Why worry about a dirty needle when you are using it to inject snake venom? If he is gonna die its not going to be form the infection. Smile
I wouldnt do it but maybe he is not as crazy as he seems

Venom is a complex concoction of many different types of enzymes, polypeptides etc.. Theoretically... any protein can induce an immune response which results in memory cells remembering that protein and immediately launch an immune cascade when that protein gets introduced in your body (this is after all, how vaccines work).

However, certainly, I don't recommend this for a number of reasons. Not everyone will react to the venom the same way. LIke other proteins, people can have an allergic reaction to venom and may even go into anaphylactic shock and die from that. Also, like everything else, the dose may be the difference between the cure and the poison. But without strict medical supervision this is a very dangerous and potentially lethal way to try to get "immunity" from snake venom.

The guy is a genius! Along the same lines: I've started stretching my testicles so I can just throw them over my shoulder to keep them safe. However, for the love of god, never pat me on the back!

This subject has fascinated me since I was a child and first read about Bill Haast. According to the book “Cobras in his Garden,” Bill has studied workers working on the venom lines in parts of Asia. They were doing extractions for the antivenom. They had been ejecting diluted cobra venom to build up a tolerance. Bill talked about it with his doctor and wife, both advised against it…but Bill being who he was, did it anyway. He went on to be bitten another 150 times. He was the first known person to survive a crate bite. Before there was a coral snake antivenom, doctors used his blood to do transfusions that saved the lives of coral snake bite victims and to top it off, he lived to be over 100 years old.

I have several close friends that do the Inoculation, and they are all happy with the results. I have never done it myself…most likely never will.

Yeah dont think I will ever engage in such activity. I mean, certain smokers also get to live a long time. Smile But these are anecdotal stories are correlational at best, certainly there is no statistical evidence for causation. I think a double blind clinical study would have to be conducted before we can say that this is a successful strategy.
