I just saw this infuriating show. The host, that idiot Steve-O Said that the water was 10 degrees above freezing, so they decided to dump a bunch of pythons and boas in the water, all for this idiotic reality TV show. Man I am furious about this. Angry

I think it's about time we get active and write a letter campaign to the producers of this show. Let's put an end to this animal cruelty. And WHERE THE HELL IS THE HSUS WHEN IT COMES THINGS LIKE THIS?

Especially coming from someone that claims to be an animal activist. There's a petition that's been started, it already has 6,000+ signatures:

I'm glad that there is a petition, I'm not sure how useful it is. I think a more active letter writing campaign to the producers as well as to Tru TV may be the way to go.

I agree Larry. I saw this on another forum. In that thread, they said that the water is not cold, but they tell the contestants to act like it is cold and they put in fake ice cubes. Even so, I find this display of animal cruelty infuriating, just like you. I'm also certain that the petition means nothing because the producers will never see it. Even if they do, 6,000 signatures compared to an audience of millions will have little sway.

The provider of the snakes should also be a target. About a year ago, there was a Fear Factor that people railed against. The provider of the snakes was discovered and slammed on all the forums. They tried to defend themselves, but couldn't convince people that the snakes were not in harms way. I wonder if it is the same people.

They would have to be in the same state as the taping, because they throw a Burm in there near the end. To transport that Burm across state lines is a felony now.

Just a thought, maybe writing to our congressional representatives about this might be effective?

I think the key is to target the sponsors and their products. The petition should read, "by signing this petition you agree to boycott these sponsors and their products until the animal abuse is stopped". Then after 6,000 people sign the petition send it to the sponsors.

I saw this on Facebook and was too angry for words. I will live my feelings about this show at the simple statement:

I would trade him for Ryan Dunn in a heartbeat and never feel bad about the decision.

So a little more info came from Urban Jungles Radio the audio recording can be found here http://www.blogtalkradio.com/urbanjunglesradio/2012/11/24/urbanjunglesradio-thankful#.ULOhPS9AYyw.facebook. The actual conversation about this show starts at about 48 minutes in. During this he talks to one of the animal wranglers Robert Walter of Reptile Island. He does admit to providing animals for the show but the show was apparently shot 2 years ago so there isnt too many details. Have a listen for yourself and decide also he did say his email which may change here soon depending on how many people have been emailing him about it or not. Reptileisland3@yahoo.com Judge for yourself and lets hold these people responsible but please lets be professionals about it.

I saw it too. They were trying as hard as they could to get out of the water. They dropped a couple of 3 - 4 ft. long crocks in at the end too.
