PostSubject: Damn Humidity   Sun Aug 19, 2012 10:52 am

So I am setting up an enclosure in advance in anticipation of my Croc Skink coming next weekend. Set it up with a thick layer of Eco Earth, with another thick layer of frog moss, a large area of water, along with decor and hiding. Covered half of the screen top to try to trap in humidity, as I have been reading that Croc Skinks do best in SUPER High, 80-100% humidity. I don't have foggers or auto misters yet, but thoroughly manually misting this tank 2x a day isn't putting me any higher than like 60-70%. Any suggestions to getting it up there? Temps have to stay low for this species, highs of 82 is what I've found recommended, lows side being 70-72

I wanna get this right BEFORE I bring home my little one,
Should I cover the whole top? I intend on picking up the monsoon misting system, unless u guys think a fogger would work better?

My ghetto way of bringing it up is putting paper towels down on top spray them good put a piece of plastic over them then take a heating pad that's either low low watt or has a controller on it. Turn it on low for a little and it should bring it up. If it does then you can put it on a timer and it will usually hold a constant humidity until you get a fogger.

And for cheap foggers I use these. They work well on timers also.
