| This video popped up on my Facebook feed, via the Reptile Report, so I'm sure a lot of you guys have probably seen it. It is so amazing! Whenever I finally have the ability/finances to go back to school, I want a Zoology degree, and many a time, I have thought about specializing in snake/reptile venom. I LOVE videos like this!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4WvnjCkLbvY&feature=player_embedded |

Oooooh, thank you for the link. I will definitely check him out. I love venom studies. I think venom is the most fascinating adaptation in the world. |

| I already started poking around on his site. Some amazing articles!
I read an article by someone (it was a while ago, I doubt I could even begin to find it again, it was very old) who had a theory that nearly all snakes were, in a sense, venomous. He did a study that started with old world rear-fangs and colubrids where he studied their venoms and saliva extensively. He concluded that the saliva of some of the older colubrid species was almost venomous in itself, but not due to any venomous protein, but rather the bacterial content. It made sense, given Komodo dragons and the like, but it was still a really intense read. I might try to find it, but it was a PDF and I can't remember the poor author's name. It was really interesting though. |

| I would love to keep hots, but I am beyond not ready. I would like to own one sometime in the far, far off future, but after mentoring, and keeping something a little more high-risk that ball pythons... Personally, I love Gaboon Vipers, I think they are the coolest snakes. I love how chubby they are and how fast they can be!! |

| Wow! That's just crazy. For some reason, I always thought venom was an anti-coagulant, not the other way around. |

| Does anyone know the time elapsed on this video? I dislike that they cut away to his face an then cut to a completely different shot and didn't tell me how much time went by in setting up the camera or just in hanging around. |
